Rocking the East coast since 2009 Dark Energy are Suffolk’s premier purveyors of foot stomping indie rock and hip shaking power pop .

Dark Energy play an eclectic mix of Indie, Glam, Punk and 80′s pop music from Stereophonics, to Duran Duran, by way of David Bowie and Muse. As the name suggests the common theme is energy. Every song we play is designed to uproot the staunchest of wallflowers and set even the ungrooviest of booties to shaking.

East Anglia’s answer to Bono frontman Pat Cable is as likely to be found in the crowd, or scaling the bar as manning the ivories.

Guitar slinger Graham Cable is a renowned master of the rock shape (Wilko Johnson and Pat Smear impressions are a speciality).

Bass duties are handled by Matt Barwick (estd. Feb 2013), an ambience all-rounder and ambassador of laid-back funkadelic power groove.

John Bicknell joined the fray at the end of 2011 and fills the joint roles of stick destroyer extraordinaire and loudest drummer in the world.

For those that are wondering, Dark Energy is a mysterious energy physicists believe permeates the universe; the boys just think it’s a cool name for a band.
